Tasha's back!!!

Today I woke up to the wonderful news that my good friend, Tasha, is back on California soil after spending 6 weeks in Ghana, Africa. You guys all know how much of an animal lover I am, so when she sent the link to her blog: www.tashaefualopez.blogspot.com
(copy and paste if you can't open the link) I was in complete AWE -- and a bit ummm...jealous! You have to go over to see her photos (and read about her experience) and you'll understand why. It is my DREAM to go on an African safari (and this is Tasha's SECOND that I know of) but getting the 2nd-hand experience will just have to suffice for now. *wistful sigh*

Let me just toot Tasha's horn for those of you who don't know her. First, she's young -- maybe 30 now? She's super smart (with the credentials to back it up) and she just LOVES people (probably more than I love animals). She's a "Big Sister" in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization and is very faith driven. Most of all -- she's cool! You guys know I'm not a super religious person (but I most certainly believe) and Tasha has never once thumped me with her Bible. When I asked her to accompany me to the huge megachurch here in San Diego because I was a bit intimidated, she was there. When I lived in Orange County, she would listen to my problems and offer up great advice -- but always unbiased. To know her is to love her and I just think she is an all around fabulous person.

This trip was actually sponsored through her employer, IBM (told ya she's smart), but she has also gone on Missions to Kenya and Argentina (and probably other places that I don't know about) using her own time and raising money all in the name of helping STRANGERS.

Anyhoo...I know this post has nothing to do with being pregnant, I just thought I'd share Tasha with all of you because her email made my morning today. Although I don't see her as much anymore since I moved, I really feel blessed to know her and if you ever meet her I know you'll feel the same way!

Wow, Karoline, you are such a blessing in my life. It's been a tough week for me being back home. I'm missing the people of Africa so much (and the work I was doing), and I've been really sad so it's been hard to stay focused. Reading your blog was a great way to focus on something positive, and to enjoy the pictures of how fabulous you look! Then I read your post about me, and I was so humbled by your kind words. It was like a big hug, from you and from God, and it came at exactly the right time. I am so grateful to have you in my life, and I can't wait to SEE you in person soon :) Thanks again! XOXOXO

I love Tasha too! First day I met her, she showed my baby boy DJ so much love. She has a definite gift!
