Fair Fail Flop

I was so excited to take Kali to the San Diego Fair yesterday.  We kept her home from school and her first day of swim class and everything!  Kali kept saying how GREAT the fair was going to be and she was ultra excited about seeing the animals and getting on the rides.
The day started off great.  We went into the barn and saw cows, goats and sheep.  Then we walked past the pony rides and she said she wanted to ride them.  We also went to the pig races and then over to Kiddieland where all the miniature rides were.  She begged us to go on this one 'ride' which wasn't really a ride, but more like an obstacle course that ended with a really long slide.  We kept asking her if she was sure and she kept insisting that she wanted to.  So we gave the lady the tickets and on the first part of the course, she freaked out and said she didn't want to do it.  The lady said I could do it with her so I did....but in hindsite we should have just forfeited the 4 tickets!!  We had to climb a cargo net, cross a suspended wooden bridge and then slide down this gargantuan slide with Kalissa on the verge of tears the entire time!  After we finished, she said she didn't like it.  Thanks for the newsflash!

After that fail, we decided to be more selective on what she could ride.  She was tall enough to ride everything independently but we quickly learned that her nerves didn't match her height.  We finally agreed on the next ride....a quiet canoe ride on a gentle stream.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!  On the first tunnel though, Kalissa went into hysteria and started crying and yelling out, "Help me, Mommy!!"  Oh lawwwwd!  She had to go through 2 more tunnels and she was literally screaming at that point.  Okay, no more rides!!  We ended up giving away the rest of our ride tickets and calling it a day!  She had the nerve to say she wants to go back!  *lol*  Not for at least a couple more years sister!!
