Stars & Stripes

Although Independence Day fell on a Wednesday this year, that did not keep us from getting together with our friends and having a GREAT time!  We put Kalissa down for an early nap so she was ready to roll when 3:00 came.  She looooooved her outfit.  I say that because I had originally purchased a pretty, festive, 4th of July dress for her to wear (since she loves dresses) but when I pulled it out of the bag, she hated it!  She didn't even want to try it on!!  Then she saw this simple t-shirt and was over the moon in love with it and couldn't wait to wear it.  *sigh*  Go figure.  It doesn't even matter because she barely kept the outfit on...once she saw the pool, she was instantly ready to get her swim on!


By the end of the evening, Kalissa was completely wore out!!  We ate, we laughed, we danced, we played, we had a funky good time and at the end of the night....I almost cried!!  I was standing on the ledge of the jacuzzi and Pamela said she wanted to take my picture so I handed her my camera but as a result of a botched handoff, it fell into the pool!!! NOOOOOO!  Thanks to Pamela's quick reflexes, it was only in the pool for maybe a second but the damage was done.  It never turned on again.  Goodbye Sony Cyber Shot...you've served us well for 5 years.  I was bummed that the pictures were lost, but low & behold, the memory stick was not damaged and the photos were intact!  WOO HOOO!!!

It's out with the old and in the new....Daddy bought us a Nikon D5100!!!  Professional pictures here we come....just as soon as we figure out how to use it!  Better believe that the new camera won't be found ANY where near water!
