Waterbaby

Last week, Kali attended her first swim class...and hated it. *lol* I should have known the day wasn't going to be great judging from the snarky look she was giving me in this photo! Although I held out a glimmer of hope that she'd behave, I wasn't really surprised because her mood last week was just so nasty. In true New Kali fashion, she cried and whined the entire half hour. Her mood certainly wasn't due to temperature shock because the pool felt like a nice warm bath but nothing could please her. The class is really just getting the babies used to being in the water. There are about 10 babies in the class and most are Kalissa's age. We sang songs and did little exercises to promote kicking and reaching. We also did some exercises to try to get them to put their faces in the water and blow bubbles. Kalissa wanted no parts of any of it. ZERO participation! She clung to me like a cat! Candy was busy filming for me and this was the best it got for day 1:


The 2nd day of class wasn't any different so I decided to have a little talk with her. I told her that she'd better suck it up! Mommy already paid her money so we have FIVE more weeks of swimming and she'd better learn something! *lol* I don't know if that did the trick but what I do know is that Week 2 started today and there was a complete 180 in attitude. She loved it! Not one whine! She did all of the activities and even put her face in the water on her own. I was so proud of her! Here she is in action:
