One of the highlights was a road trip to Los Angeles. This trip should have only taken about 2 hours to make, but it took us three due to horrendous traffic! Kalissa was a champ though. She slept through most of it but even when she was awake, she didn't fuss. I suppose that being face-forward helped with that! We actually cheated on that milestone because she's been riding in her new car seat for about 3 weeks now. She had outgrown her infant seat and I couldn't see buying a bigger one for just a few more weeks of use. The trip to L.A. was to visit some more family members. We got to meet Nana's Aunt Sara & Uncle LJ (which makes them Kalissa's Great Great Aunt & Uncle) and also Kalissa's third and fourth cousins. Talk about extended family! As soon as her youngest 4th cousin, Dylan - 4 years old, saw Kalissa he instantly wanted to play with her. It was so cute how he took her under his wing.

The neighborhood was having a free jazz festival just a few streets over so some of us walked over to check it out. As we walked, Kalissa's eyes got huge because of all the dogs roaming the streets. She wanted to pet them but ummm...these weren't exactly San Diego dogs. *lol* I couldn't resist snapping a picture of this dog:

*LOL* We watched this dog cross the street and walk into his yard with his McDonald's bag neatly folded in his mouth!! Did he just order up a McDouble and small fries?!? He wasn't paying us any mind either! He was on a mission to get to his meal. Only in L.A I tell ya!
After a week and a half, we had to say goodbye to Nana & PawPaw -- for now. We had such a nice visit and I miss them already. I know it won't be long before we visit them in St. Louis this time. I just hate having to wait!
