Under The Sea

On Tuesday, Kali's playgroup met for the final time of the summer. The class met at the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla for the special occasion and big sisters Candy and Qiana were also with us. I'm happy to report that my dear sweet baby has returned! She spent a good part of the morning cuddled up to one of the other moms, Tiffany, and didn't seem to want to let go! She also spent some quality time with her favorite boy in the class, Tiffany's son, Jett. Jett is also Kali's first kiss. A few months back, she walked right up to him and gave him a big wet one! *lol* Daddy wasn't very happy about that when I reported back to him. Aren't they the cutest?!?

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big marine animal person. I really don't get excited about seeing fish. However, the Birch Aquarium was pretty nice. It's not very big and I've been to better aquariums but this one was still nice and the kids seemed to enjoy their time there. There were some really freaky sea horses that I'd never seen before and it was pretty educational. At the very least, Kalissa and her sisters got to spend some quality time together. I pretty much let them take the reigns with showing her the different exhibits.

One highlight was the huge tank with all kinds of different fish. I could have spent hours just watching that exhibit. Very serene. Of course, when you have a bunch of little kids running around, the serenity kind of loses its strength. *lol*

By the end of class, Kalissa was pretty worn out but happy. Classic case of sensory overload. Our educational trip was a success and we have evidence that she learned at least one thing....how to make a fish face!
