This morning Kali's school invited the moms to breakfast for their first annual "Muffins With Mom" and I wouldn't think of missing this little treat! Kalissa was sooooo excited when I told her that I would be joining her. The first thing the kids did was sing us a new song they learned, "I am a Pizza":
Next, Kali had to take me to every art station and show me all of her different projects. Up on the wall was also her behavior chart...which was missing quite a few stickers. Her teacher told me that she's doing very well but that there was a substitute teacher last week and that kind of derailed things a little bit. She said they plan to get back on track with it next week because it has been working. What a relief to hear! Also during chat time, one of Kali's friends started talking about her sister. Kalissa piped in that she has sisters too and their names are Qiana and Candy. One of the teachers asked me if she in fact does have sisters because she talks about them alllll the time but they thought she was an only child and was making them up. *lol* I told her that yes, she has older sisters and they were just here visiting so that's probably why she's talking about them so much.
Then the kids presented their mom with a Mother's Day present....soooo cute! After we had our muffins with the little ones, we said our good-byes. Kali was not happy that I was leaving. She wanted to show me all of the things she could do on the playground. She had a meltdown, which was strange because she never cries when I drop her off. Awww...it hurt my heart to see her so upset. The sweet school Director stepped in and scooped her up so that I could leave. I'm sure she got lots of TLC for the next few moments and then forgot all about me! Just a couple of hours of work and then I'll be there to cuddle up with her for the weekend!
