Graduation Celebration!

Last Tuesday, Nana and PawPaw rolled into town from St Louis.  Kalissa was sooooooo happy to see them!  It's amazing how she doesn't forget a face.  It's been almost a year since we last saw them but Kali knew exactly who they were and wasn't in the least bit scared or shy around them. 

The main reason they flew in was for Candy's graduation.   So on Thursday, 5/24, we all hopped in the car and made the 3 hour trek to Palmdale to watch Candy's big moment of walking across the stage and leaving her childhood behind!

It was so funny because once Kalissa realized that people screamed after their loved one's name was called, she joined in and started screaming for random people.  *lol*  I don't know if it was the heat or the fact that I hadn't eaten much that day, but I ended up with the worst headache!!  I would have loved to have gotten pictures of Candy in her cap and gown and on the field, but my mind wasn't working right and I was just trying to get away from the sun immediately after the ceremony was over.  The result is, I didn't get any of the pictures I had anticipated getting : (

After the graduation, we all had a celebratory lunch together and did some walking around.  Then we had to say our "see you laters" and head back home.  We are all so proud of Candy and are looking forward to all the good things life is sure to bring her way!
