Promo Time!

Back in the day, when I grew up and progressed through the school system, we got a report card at the end of the year that told you whether you passed or failed that grade.  At the end of kindergarten, you went 1st grade with no fanfare.  At the end of 5th grade you went your new middle school with no fanfare.  At the end of 8th grade, you went to your new high school with no fanfare.  At the end of high school...you celebrated.  Well!  Things have certainly changed!!  Now at the end of each of the little "milestones", there is a ceremony!  Maybe it's just the west coast or something but everyone looked at me like I had two heads because I just don't get the point of these "promotions".  But hey, I'm no scrooge so if it's important to you then it's important to me!

Last week, Qiana had a promotion ceremony to celebrate the end of middle school and her 'graduating' to high school.  So Daddy, Candy, and Kalissa made the 3-hour trek to watch the festivities.  This would mark the 1st time that Kali traveled such a far distance without me!!!  So of course I had heart palpitations the whole time!  Even though it was stressful for me to let her go, I would never make her miss an opportunity to bond with her sister.  So....off they went at 6:00 am and they didn't return until 10:00 pm!!



From what I heard, they had a fabulous time and Qiana was very happy that they attended.  Kalissa had met the girls' mom before but hadn't ever spent time with her.  Ever since their day together, when Kalissa talks about her family, she includes Shanda.  Awwww....gotta love blended families!!

I can't get over how mature Qiana looked!  Absolutely gorgeous!
