Now That's a Blow Out!

Usually, Sundays are 'get-your-hair-together' days in our household.  But this weekend, I decided to get it out of the way today since Kali has a birthday party to attend tomorrow (her first one!).  Instead of our normal kinky-curly regimen, I wanted to blow out her hair so that I could clip her ends.  I noticed that her hair was beginning to tangle more than usual and I attributed that to her unruly ends that have never been trimmed.  Because her hair is so spongy, I needed to straighten her hair first before trimming.

This is a totally new concept for us so I had absolutely no idea how Kalissa would react to having her hair blow dried straight.  I did one small section before she asked to look in the mirror.  When Kalissa saw her reflection, she was soooo excited!  She happily and patiently sat and allowed me to finished her blow out.

You would have thought that she just won a gazillion cookies because she was ecstatic over her lightly blown out hair and I wasn't even finished yet!  All of the lint trapped at the ends of her hair solidified the fact that her ends desperately needed attention.  Kalissa kept asking me to not make her hair curly and kept saying that she likes her hair long.  *lol*  After a bit more straightening, a little trimming, and some styling I sent Kali to the mirror to look at the finished product.

Oh my goodness, you should have seen the smile that came upon her face!!!  Priceless!  She couldn't take her eyes off of herself and she gladly posed for some pictures!  *lol*  As I was putting the camera away, I looked up and caught the tail end of her posing for herself in the mirror...

She's 3!!!  Does she really care this much about her looks at 3?!?  Aye yi yi!  I'll try to keep her hair straight this week but next week it's back to natural curls...I hope she won't be too disappointed.   : (
