Okay, although I am not all about the commercial aspects of Christmas, there are some things that I have to give in on just because. One such thing is baby's first Santa picture. This year would be Kali's first photo-op with the bearded fat man and I was actually anxious to see how she would react to him. Even though she's a 'people-person', this would be her first time seeing someone in costume and it's not like she even knows what a Santa is. So Daddy and I trekked out to the mall (Daddy left FOOTBALL for the occasion so this MUST have been a special event!) and waited in line. Kali was being her usual spirited self, entertaining the other people in line so I thought this would turn out pretty good. As soon as we entered Santa's house, she went into cautious mode. At first she didn't want to be left with him but she warmed up to him pretty quickly and he was able to put her on his lap. She didn't seem afraid of him (she loved his beard) she just seemed really cautious....not exactly sure how to take him. Once we stepped out of the frame though, she started to whine so the photographer quickly snapped her photo:

He snapped a few more pictures but the first one ended up being the best and we decided this was as good as it was getting for her! Not bad....but let's give it up for Santa -- he's looking good playing the part, right? I guess that's what you get when you venture out to the "affluent" parts of town.
