Oh What a Night!

All day yesterday I just wasn't feeling quite right. I told my mom & Pamela that my belly just felt really heavy and I was pretty much walking around holding it up with 2 hands! *lol* I didn't put too much thought into it. Then after work, I went tinkle at home and when I wiped, there was bright red blood on the paper along with a few small clots. Uh ohhh...probably not a good sign but the last thing I wanted to do was have to spend the night in the emergency waiting room like last time (back on Valentine's day when we found out about my fibroids). So I called the 24-hour nurse hotline and gave her the lowdown. She ended up calling the OB on duty who said, do not pass go...do not collect $200....head directly to Mary Birch. Having to go to Mary Birch sounded a whole lot better than going back to the emergency room so Al and I headed out around 10:15 p.m. We arrived in under 15 minutes (good practice!) and I was immediately put in a room where the R.N. began to monitor our baby's heart rate and also my contraction rate. Yes, contraction rate. No one seemed concerned about the little blood that prompted the visit because K.Rae was ACTING UP last night! She was having the party of ALL PARTIES in my belly! *lol* Anyway, they had a monitor that measured contractions and apparently I was having them! I wasn't in any pain...I just felt mild tightening in my abdomen. The nurse wasn't sure if these were Braxton-Hicks contractions (false alarms) or the real thing, but once they started coming every 7 minutes or so, the OB on Duty ordered an injection which would stop them, just to be safe. It worked. The RN checked my cervix which was not dilated at all and told me to take it easy today. I was finally discharged at 5:00 a.m. this morning. *whew* When I went tinkle at home this morning, I was again met with blood on the paper but this time no clots. I'll call my regular doctor today to see if he wants me to come in. Don't be alarmed...I'm sure everything is just fine!!
