Nesting...

Up until yesterday, I hadn't had the slightest urge to do anything involving preparing for K.Rae. Not that I didn't want to do it, I just didn't have the energey to get started on anything. That all changed yesterday....and the books say it's part of the "nesting" process. They also say that once a pregnant woman starts nesting, it's a good sign that baby will be arriving soon! So after weeks of being just plain exhausted with toting this big belly around, I finally found some energy to prepare for K.Rae's arrival. Al started it off by doing her first load of laundry and getting all the cute little clothes folded. I finished up the laundry, lined the drawers and then ever so neatly placed her little clothes in their rightful spots.
Of course I separated the onesies by size, so that I could get a clear understanding of her wardrobe needs. *lol* Al pointed out to me that she didn't have any newborn clothing. I was like, "yes she does...these are size 0 - 3 months". Unbeknownst to me, size 0-3 months is not the smallest size. There's an actual "newborn" size. He explained that she will need some NB size clothes probably for the first couple of weeks of her life, but not to buy much because she'll quickly outgrow them. *sigh* Another lesson learned. I quickly went out and bought our baby some NB outfits - my first clothes purchase for her. And just as I thought...once I started I couldn't stop. I had to reason with myself that I didn't need everything in my cart and ended up putting back most of it. So now that her onesies and socks and little underwear (pamper covers) were washed and put away, we took to hanging her outfits that she has received so far. Again, we arranged it in order of size so that we can see what needs to be bought. She's got quite a cute collection so far! But of course, I can't wait to go back out and get her more of EVERYTHING! I was overwhelmed with folding the little clothes, I can't believe she's going to be so small!!

After all the laundry was finished, I got the urge to finish up her baby book...at least the parts that I could fill in for now. That was very therapeutic. I tried to be as descriptive as possible so that when she's a young woman, she can read through it and know just how much her mommy and daddy loved her from the very start. I still haven't started on her letter yet but I plan to do that in the coming weeks when I get some quiet time. We were also able to put out the fabulous bedding that my mom got us! Doesn't it look beautiful?! What a difference that made to the overall affect. I'm still keeping an eye out for wall decor and once we get those up, the nursery will be complete and ready for our little princess to arrive. We know that we are going to put her name in wooden letters above her crib, so I just have to figure out what to do with the other walls.

Lastly...my poor Rudy! *lol* He is having a hard time understanding that the baby's stuffed animals are not for him! Everytime I open the armoire, he tries so hard to get to the little animals that he knows are in there. Awwww...he just wants a new toy! I gotta remember to pick him up some new animals to play with! *lol*

I was so happy to hear your message this weekend about nesting, and now to see the pictures that are a result of your nesting :) K.Rae's room looks WONDERFUL! And make sure you don't buy too many clothes, 'cause you know you'll be getting more. You don't have to be expecting to enjoy shopping for baby girls clothes, haha!
