I'm Not Faster Than a 6th Grader!

It is the first week of November and we are having 90 degree weather! I suppose this is why we pay the outrageous expense to live in this city. Since we have to pay for it, we might as well get out and enjoy it! So today, I had the bright idea to challenge Qiana to a race. She was just way too confident that she could beat me in running and I was just not having that! Are you kidding me?? You really think you can beat me running? Okay, maybe I forgot that I'm 37 and not as fit as I could be but we went out to the park anyway and mapped out a course that was probably 1/4 mile run. On your mark....get set.....go! Okay, less than half-way through, I quit!! What was I thinking??? *lol* Both Qiana and Candy finished and Candy beat Qiana. I conceded the race but only because I'm not a distance runner. Surely she could not beat me in a sprint! Challenge on! Once again...she beat me. Then Candy challenged me to a sprint....but woooo hoooooo, I beat her! I say I smoked her, but if you ask her she will probably say it was a tie. Either way, it was a pitiful display of athletics on my part. At what point did I lose my turbo?? And here I was thinking I still had it! Oh well, time to pass on that baton and sit my behind down somewhere!!

Daddy still has some athletics though. He and Candy spent some time tossing around the softball. We had a good time for the little bit we were out there. Hey, we are old and it was too dag on hot to be out there all day!!
