Playing it Safe...

This morning I awoke and things weren't quite right (to spare you the details). Luckily, Al hadn't left for work yet and we discussed whether or not it would be prudent to go to the hospital. His main concern was that K.Rae wasn't moving, which is odd for her first thing in the morning. I ate breakfast and drank some cold orange juice which usually gets her going, but to no avail this morning. We knew I wasn't going into labor but we made the decision to go to the hospital just to play it safe. Al just kept saying he needed to hear her heart beat.

So at about 7:00 a.m. we arrived at Mary Birch and my nurse got me hooked up to the monitors and instantly found K.Rae's heart beat. Ahhhhh...instant relief. You can hear for yourself on this video:

Al's so silly, I didn't know he was taking a video...I thought he was just taking a picture.

Anyway, everything turned out to be okay and we were released a few hours later after they were successful in getting K.Rae's heartbeat to accelerate. Apparently a steady heartbeat of 150 is good but they wanted to be sure that her heart rate would accelerate when stimulated, which it finally did.

We also had our regular doctor's appt this afternoon. I was having contractions all day (even in the hospital) and they were about 8 minutes apart so I just KNEW I'd be dilated this time. No dice. Again. My doctor assured me that just because I'm not dilating, it didn't mean I'd be pregnant forever. *lol* She's just not ready so we'll just have to wait until she is!

I'm glad she's okay and you're okay. Soon enough, you'll be able to hold little K-Rae in your arms instead of your belly :) Can't wait!
