So Thankful...

My favorite holiday of the year could not have been better. We decided early on that we were NOT cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner this year and luckily, we have a standing invitation at the Woods' home so we were welcomed with open arms. Of course we didn't go empty handed. I made the cornbread dressing and Daddy made the greens and deviled eggs to accompany all the other delicious foods: turkey (made 2 ways--fried and roasted), ham, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes & gravy, yams, green beans and desserts. Kalissa ate a plate of just about everything and did a pretty good job with getting most of it down. Once she did get full, she starting telling me, "that's disgusting!" when I tried to keep feeding her. Operation Teach-Kali-Table-Manners is coming soon!! Everything was so good and the Woods family did a wonderful job at graciously hosting 16 people!!

After dinner, Kali gobbled down not one, but TWO chocolate cupcakes! She loved every sugary bit and even asked for more. I hope she stored the sensation in her little brain because she definitely won't be getting any more for a loooong time! Once the sugar reached her system, she went into party mode. Trychel taught her how to do the "Cat Daddy" and we had a kick out of watching her version of the dance.

I also broke the news to Kali that Brooklyn is pregnant and tried to explain that means Brooklyn has a baby in her belly. Kalissa's eyes got huge and then she pulled back Brooklyn's skirt so she could have a look at her belly. She said, "Mommy, I don't see the baby!" I told her that it was inside of her belly. Kali took one more look down Brooklyn's skirt and yelled, "There's a baby in there, Mommy!!!" *lol* Brooklyn is 4 months pregnant and doesn't have even the slightest bump yet. I can't wait for her to start showing and then Kali is really going to be confused as to where the baby actually is! As you can see, Kali adores Brooklyn and the love goes both ways!

Needless to say we had a wonderful time with family and friends and couldn't have asked for a better day to give thanks and glory to God for making this all possible.
