Can you Feel the Love?!

On Saturday, 6/20, my friends came together to shower much love on Al and me, and of course our baby girl -- K.Rae! Let me just first say: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

My best friend, Pamela, and her family opened their home to host the event and it was absolutely beautiful. She is definitely "the hostess with with most-ess"! Everything was decorated in our nursery colors of pink and brown. Her daughters were in on the planning and set up as well. Ariel came up with delicious non-alcoholic drinks made especially for the day and also made some very yummy cupcakes (of which I had 3 or 4 or 5...but who's counting??).

We played games, including a crossword puzzle of which NO ONE came up with all 12 answers. Ummm...some of y'all should be ashamed of yourselves for as long as we've known each other! *lol* Just kidding, I'm sure everyone found out a piece of "Karoline Trivia" that they never knew about me.

We ate. Oh boy did we eat. Well, at least I did! *lol* The food was delicious! It was a mix of catered selections along with some homemade staples. Thanks to Woody for the deviled eggs and potato salad...it was delicious as always. And thank you to Stella who made the veggie tray and a beautiful fruit tray with a yummy whipped topping, made by Ariel, that everyone loved! And a very very special thank you to Tasha who so graciously went out of her way to pick up the catering and bring it safely to the shower!! Of course I can't forget my Al who only kicked and screamed a tiny little bit at the bill before opening his wallet. :) Thank you all soooooo much for making my tummy happy (and hopefully everyone else's too!).

After eating and playing games, we got to opening the presents. And there were LOTS of them. Al and I were truly overwhelmed (but not surprised) at the generosity of everyone. My mom even bought K.Rae's crib mattress (in addition to all the other stuff she's bought). Stella made the cutest personalized pillow & blanket along with a 3-tiered diaper cake. I received generous gift certificates from Carolyn and Cara! Tasha stuffed a diaper bag full of goodies including the crib mobile, crib sheets, clothes, and goodies for me. On top of the party, Pamela bought the car seat! I got tons of clothes from Susan & Sophia, Bonnie & Jackie, Trychel & Taylor, and Brooklyn! Ariel got her the most precious musical carousel with a diaper bag full of clothes too! We got a baby monitor and scrap book from Teresia & family and Cathy bought us a much-needed boppy pillow! Tracy and Teddy bought the cutest baby tub with shower attachment, and Al got a "I love Daddy" picture frame from Pamela too. :) I REALLY hope I didn't forget anyone because I'm doing this from memory right now without the official "gift list" that Stella took down for me. More personal thank you cards will be coming soon so if I left anything out here, please know that your gift was very much appreciated...my brain is just on overload right now. :)

I can't express how much having everyone there to help celebrate the upcoming birth of our daughter meant to me. We truly have great friends and family and I appreciate what each and every one of you has done for us. Our baby is so loved from the very start not by just Al and me but by the wonderful people we choose to surround ourselves with. I'm honored to call you all my friends and mom :) We can't wait to introduce you to K.Rae -- I know she already feels the love!! Thank you again for such a beautiful baby shower.

Okay, without further ado....here are some pictures of the day! Enjoy!

Glad you felt loved, because you ARE loved! I had a great time, too: delicious food, fun games, wonderful people. And I'm impressed that without the list you could rattle off all your gifts -- who says pregnancy affects your memory? You looked beautiful, and I can't wait to meet K-Rae soon :)
