Happy Thanks Mothers' Day! LOL! That is the greeting I received from my Kali on Mothers' Day. And it was so stinkin cute, that I didn't dare correct her! But let me back up. My Mothers' Day WEEKEND celebration started on Friday. Oh yes, I declare the WHOLE weekend as mine. Because it's really the only holiday that I believe that I do deserve something for! So a day is not nearly enough for an entire year of service to my family. : )
On the Friday before Mothers' Day, Kali's preschool put on their annual "Muffins With Mom". Kalissa couldn't wait to present me with the gift she made. It was sweet and we had a lovely breakfast together. Saturday rolled around and my love sent me out shopping while he kept Kali. For dinner he made me his famous, and my favorite, fried chicken wings & corn on the cob. And it was delicious.
Sunday morning I was awakened by 2 of my 4 loves...Daddy & Kali. They served me breakfast in bed and then gave me cards that were just perfect. Candy had gone to Palmdale for the weekend so that she could celebrate with her mom...but she left me a card too. Qiana called me and left a sweet message. My cards brought me to tears...of course. Later in the day, my wonderful husband cooked me a delicious dinner fit for a queen. We had bacon-wrapped scallops and prawns for starters and then bacon-wrapped fillet mignon with rice & broccoli and a yummy red wine. For dessert, Kalissa baked me cookies in her easy bake oven. I was full, fat & happy!!!
I can't believe what my life has become in such a short amount of time. I'm grateful for every minute of it and wouldn't trade it for a thing! I feel so very loved!
My weekend wasn't over yet...I took the day off work on Monday so that I could do all my errands & chores that I normally do each weekend. LOL! Just because I had the weekend "off" doesn't mean anyone did my "work" for me! *sigh* Maybe we can work on that next year. : )
