We introduced her to ABCmouse.com last week and within minutes she understood how to use the mouse by 'left clicking' and pointing at the different activities. I ended up buying her a kid-sized mouse for her to use. And that made it even easier for her little hands to maneuver and there is absolutely no stopping her now! She "colors" pictures with the use of the mouse and also plays games. I was completely amazed with how quickly she picked up the concept. Originally, I signed her up for the program thinking that we would have to guide her through it but she can effectively use this site independently. This video was taken after maybe 2 hours of total play over 3 days. I can only imagine what she'll be able to do in a month or two!

In other news, she is 100% completely potty-trained even during naps and through the night! I'm not totally happy with the night thing though because if she has to go, she yells out "Mommy, I have to potty" and I have to get up in the middle of the night to take her. In those instances, I kinda wish she would use a pull-up! *lol*
Physically, she is about average in her growth. She's 3 feet tall and weighs about 28 pounds. She still looooooves SpongeBob Squarepants and her favorite color is purple. She has a definite opinion on the clothes she wears which sometimes means a battle in the mornings before school because she always wants to wear her nice clothes and shoes. She also loves going to school and has made so many little friends. When I take her to class, everyone greets her and she seems to be well-liked. This is great for her since she's an only child at home.
We continue to be impressed with her preschool. She's already learning how to write! One day, she came home with her school work which happened to be letter tracing. I had no idea they were doing that already so I decided to print her some tracing at home that she could work on. We only do it for about 5 minutes just to reinforce what she's learning at school. We don't believe in drilling her this young but we also don't believe that learning ends with the teachers at school. As long as she's enjoying it, we will work with her but when she's done...we're done.
The "Bible verse" that I asked her about in the video is also something that they teach her in school. The kids are to try to remember a new verse each week. Last week's verse was, "God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well." That's a lot for a 2 year old! But, to my surprise, she learned it. She didn't say it very well in the video but that's because she was preoccupied with the computer but she knows and can say it clearly when she wants to.
Well, that's about it for Kali's 2.5 year check up. She continues to be the light of our lives and we are so very proud of the little girl she is becoming!
