Dressers and Changers and Cribs....OH MY!

Over the weekend, Al and I went shopping for nursery furniture. We visited one store and I had had enough! *lol* It was like shopping for a car with no idea of what model I wanted. Who knew there were soooo many choices?? Well, you probably did but I didn't! We had the nicest saleswoman who showed us the good, the bad, and the ugly for each of the manufacturers. She didn't stop with just furniture either. She also gave us the scoop on mattresses, bedding and strollers too. All in all I felt very educated after she finished, but it really was a lot of information to take in at one time. Nobody told me that a dresser & crib would run about $1,000. And that doesn't include the mattress for $200! Ummmmm....somebody 'splain to me why a little bitty baby mattress is about $200 and my quite comfy queen size box spring and mattress was about $550. Highway robbery! And why are the bedding sets $150? Are we getting 1200 threadcount sheets for that price? I mean, the comforter is only 3' x 4' at most! *lol* Of course we left the store empty handed because I'm determined to find the same exact furniture at a discount price. Y'all know finding bargains is my joy but if I have to pay full price, I guess I will....but not without a fight!

The nursery is...well, we haven't really started it yet! Time is ticking, but I think we'll be fine with getting it done on time. We've ordered this wallpaper:

which will go on the bottom half of KRae's walls. We're going to add a white chair rail and then paint the upper portion of the walls a creamy white color. Her furniture will be dark cherry. Think "neapolitan ice cream"! I found this picture of our color choices to give you a better idea of the look we're going for:

Okay, so y'all know how much I didn't want to do PINK, however I love the pink & chocolate brown combination! I'm hoping that since the wallpaper will only go up halfway on the walls and with the furniture being dark, that it won't make me vomit. *hahahaha* I really wanted to do bright colors but we couldn't agree on anything that we saw except for this, and I'm pretty happy with the vision so far.
